Music Industry Studies
How does a recording of a favorite artist, production of a concert or musical, development of a film score, or soundtrack of a TV show go from an idea to reality? Each of these creative projects has a team of professional musicians and business-minded individuals working across the music industry to bring music from the practice room all the way to audiences and fans.
The University of Arkansas offers an array of coursework related to Music Industry Studies. Music Industry Studies can lead to careers in publishing, recording and production, law, songwriting, arts administration, artist management, music marketing, and much more. Students pursuing this coursework will have a passion for music, business, entrepreneurship, and recording technology.
The suite of courses offered can be taken by any student in any major or degree plan. Each course is designed to help students see the potential in the exciting, ever-changing world of the music industry, from the history of the field and intellectual property law to production and popular media studies.
