Music professor James Greeson won for an Emmy for his musical composition for the film "The Buffalo Flows."
Joining the UA Fort Smith Music Faculty as Adjunct Instructor of Percussion is Lynn Francis. At UA Fort Smith Ms. Francis will teach applied percussion lessons and music appreciation, and direct the Percussion Ensemble.

We are proud of our talented and dedicated faculty whose mission is to enrich and inspire the human mind and spirit through the pursuit of excellence in creative activity, research, teaching, and performance. We are a multi-disciplinary department within the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences. Students may pursue academic and professional training in performance, music education, composition, music history, music theory, ethnomusicology and music business.
Our concert hall and other venues are busy with performances by large ensembles, chamber music and solo recitals. We are pleased to present a wide variety of diverse music performed by students, faculty and guest artists. Our department strives to bring an outstanding selection of musical events to the community, offering several free recitals and concerts every year.
