Stan Morris

Saxophone

Stan Morris is a graduate of the University of Arkansas. His first serious study of the saxophone occurred under the tutelage of David Pittman and Robert Umiker. During two consecutive summer workshops at Union college in Schenectady, New York, he studied saxophone with Sigurd Rascher, premiering several new works for the saxophone with the Rascher Saxophone Quartet. After completing four years as a Naval musician, including a two-year tour with the Naval Sixth Fleet in Europe, Morris studied with Kenneth Deans and Lawrence Gwozdz while completing a Master of Fine Arts degree in Saxophone Performance at the University of Georgia. An active performing artist and clinician, he is listed on the touring roster of the Arkansas Arts Council.
